Taking place May 24-27, 2012 the race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of Monaco , with many elevation changes, tight corners and a tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One. In spite of the relatively low average speeds, it is a dangerous place to race.

Auto enthusiasts and jet setters flock to Monte Carlo for the race, the warm climate, the famous casino and the chance to rub elbows with a Prince or movie star. Although it has a reputation for being a glitzy tax haven for millionaires, the Principality offers an array of exceptional cultural attractions including the Princess Grace Rose Garden and the Oceanographic Museum .

SeaDream Yacht Club's 2011 Norwegian Fjord Debut

SeaDream I, SeaDream Yacht Club’s 112 guest mega-yacht will make her Baltic and Norwegian Fjord debut starting with an eleven-night voyage May 28th to June 8th, 2011 sailing from Hamburg, Germany to Bergen, Norway. On the itinerary; a transit of the Kiel Canal; the summer sailing villages of Faaborg, Denmark and Marstrand, Sweden and eight days discovering the world famous fjords and captivating wildlife of Norway. Leading travel publications worldwide, including National Geographic have rated the Norwegian fjords as a top travel destination.

SeaDream I will be the first cruise vessel to visit Faaborg on Denmark ’s island of Fyn (home of Hans Christian Andersen). Popular for sailing during the summer months, SeaDream guests will have the unique opportunity to race
historical sailing ships in Faaborg. From Denmark , SeaDream sails to the vibrant boating destination of Marstrand , Sweden . Founded under Norwegian rule in the thirteenth century, visitors adore Marstrand’s ornate wooden buildings and bustling harbor.

Additional highlights of this voyage include a call on Lillesand, Norway. Due to the small size of Lillesand, larger cruise vessels do not visit this quaint village. Known for its charming white-painted “Captain’s houses” and its maritime history, here SeaDream guests experience firsthand how Norwegians spend their summers. “Skjaergaarden”, the tiny islands near Lillesand show off incredible summer homes belonging to Norway ’s wealthiest.

During the voyage SeaDream will dock in the center of Oslo , Norway ’s capital. The city is a blend of the country’s old culture and traditions with today’s modern Norwegian lifestyle. Oslo has excellent museums, parks and even a royal Palace. Outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and fishing are popular during the long summer days here. In contrast Flam , Norway is surrounded by steep mountainsides and deep valleys. It is remote and peaceful. SeaDream’s ample outdoor deck space will allow guests to take in grand views of the surrounding majestic waterfalls. Excursion options will include a ride on the famous Flåm Railway up to the Vatnahalsen Hotel for tea and local delicacies.

This SeaDream voyage concludes in Bergen , Norway with a special beach barbeque on a nearby island. As the calendar approaches June 21st (the longest day of the year) the magnificent “midnight sun” bathes Norway with near 24 hours of light.

SeaDream’s Norwegian Captains and Officers look forward to sharing their country with guests. Space is available with rates starting as low as $7,099 per person plus fees. SeaDream Yacht Club’s inclusive pricing includes ocean view accommodations, gourmet meals, wine with lunch and dinner, open bar with selected premium brands, gratuities, use of mountain bikes and more.

SeaDream Yacht Cruises Wins Top Awards

Sept 26, 2010-In advance of publishing the 2011 Berlitz Guide to Cruising & Cruise Ships on October 4, the new guide has announced that the 112-guest mega yachts SeaDream I and II are two of the top five sea-going passenger vessels in the world.

The new Berlitz Guide, researched and written by Douglas Ward - the world’s top authority on cruising and cruise ships - enforces that when it comes to life on the ocean waves “small is beautiful”. Having reviewed 285 cruise ships, Ward has named the top-rated ships for 2011. The 10 most highly rated, being officially “small” or “boutique”.

The hard hitting reviews independently expose the best and worst scoring cruise ships using an internationally accepted rating system devised by the author, Douglas Ward, the most formidable critic in the business. Taken into account are 400 separate items based on personal cruises, visits and revisits to ships, as well as observations and comments from Ward’s team.

Commenting on the announcement by Berlitz on their 2011 ship ratings, Bob Lepisto, SeaDream’s President, said: “We are honored and delighted to have been so highly distinguished once again in this world-renowned guide produced by the passenger shipping expert, Douglas Ward. We thank him and his publishers, however, as President I want to add my thanks to our colleagues at sea and those in our offices around the world who have all contributed to our continued success".

In the 2010 Berlitz Guide, in the category “The Top 10 Boutique Ships” (50-200 passengers), SeaDream I and II were rated No 1 and 2, the “Best in the World”, with scores of 1,788 for SeaDream II and 1,786 for SeaDream I.

Since SeaDream’s founding in 2001, it has been honored annually by the Berlitz Guide, SeaDream I and II having been described as “Ultimately Exclusive Boutique Vessels” and named as the tops in the guide’s Five Star Club, listing them as the “Crème de La Crème”.

The SeaDream Difference:

In the nine years since the company came into business, innovative SeaDream Yacht Club has brought a refreshing change to the world of ultra-luxury holidays at sea – with the intention of being completely different from any and every other cruise product.

The expression ‘Yacht Club’ is not a sentiment about size; it is a statement about lifestyle aboard the small, ultra-deluxe vessels. Chic and stylish, SeaDream I and II are the ultimate hybrid of deluxe private yacht and luxury boutique spa. The elegant informality of the yachts sits comfortably with state-of-the art facilities, discreet, personal service and world class cuisine. - SeaDream is the only member of the Thai Spa Association at sea.

Yachting is about enjoying an unstructured lifestyle - dropping anchor offshore rather than tie up at dock, staying in port until well after midnight and taking a voyage to locations where large traditional cruise ships cannot sail.

SeaDream Passengers Take a Dip in the Atlantic.

What do guests aboard a SeaDream Yacht Club transatlantic crossing do on a beautiful, calm day at latitude 26 degrees, 28 minutes- longitude 39 degrees 40 minutes, 958 nautical miles from the Azores and 1541 nautical miles from their destination, San Juan Puerto Rico?

Why, take a swim in the Atlantic Ocean of course.

SeaDream II’s Captain Terje Willasen monitored Atlantic sea conditions each day after departing Seville, Spain on October 10. “Guests had been telling me they would like to take a swim in the Atlantic and at dawn on Thursday October 15, I knew that this was the day. The seas were as still as a pond.”

Under the close supervision of staffers, guests who wished to were invited to take a dip in the Atlantic from the SeaDream II’s stern Marina and bobbed about in the blue sea.

Later, in a special ceremony, the Captain awarded his Atlantic swim team a “Certificate of Accomplishment” to highlight the feat. “It’s just an example, of SeaDream Yacht Club going the extra mile---in this case the extra nautical mile in mid-Atlantic,” the Captain said.

Certainly SeaDream II’s transatlantic guests had other diversions during the 10-day voyages from Seville, Spain to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Among them award-winning gourmet dining, yoga, tai chi, spa treatments, long walks on open decks, the pleasure of good books and good conversation, a series of interesting lectures---and even, an occasional swim in the yacht’s onboard swimming pool.

The mega-yacht cruiser SeaDream II and her twin SeaDream I have only 56 accommodations for lucky guests and just about a one-to-one ratio of crew to passengers.
