Princess Cruise Announces 2010 New England Canada Program

(June 1, 2009) Whether travelers are drawn by the natural beauty of rugged coastlines, intrigued by colonial landmarks, or hope to experience dazzling fall foliage, Princess’ annual voyages along the Atlantic coast of Canada and New England are full of memorable destinations. In 2010, Caribbean Princess and Crown Princess will return to the region to offer the perfect way to experience the charms of the Eastern Seaboard.

In total, the two ships will offer 15 departures on three different itineraries. For a convenient roundtrip cruise, Caribbean Princess will sail on seven-day voyages from New York. For those who want to explore this historic region further, Crown Princess departs on the classic 10-day itinerary between New York City and charming Québec City. And for a tour of the entire coastline, Crown Princess will also sail on an extended 13-day Canada & Colonial America journey along the full length of the Atlantic coast. The Canada & New England season will run from August 7 through October 17, 2010.

Princess’ 2010 Canada & New England season includes:

Roundtrip Seven-Day Canada & New England from New York - Caribbean Princess will sail on convenient seven-day roundtrip itineraries from New York with port calls in Newport, Boston, Bar Harbor (for Acadia national Park), Saint John (for the Bay of Fundy) and Halifax. The ship will depart on 11 sailings from August 7 to October 16.

Classic 10-Day Canada & New England - Crown Princess will offer Princess’ classic 10-day route between New York and Québec City. Passengers will enjoy visits to Newport, Boston, Bar Harbor (for Acadia national Park), Saint John (for the Bay of Fundy), Halifax, Sydney (Nova Scotia) and Ville Saguenay (Québec), plus an overnight stay in charming Québec City. The ship sails on three cruises on this route between September 17 and October 7.

Canada & Colonial America - Crown Princess will also feature one departure on an extended 13-day Canada & Colonial America itinerary from Québec City to Ft. Lauderdale. MSC Orchestra Maiden Arrival in New York

(May 6, 2009) – Start spreading the news – MSC Cruises introduces its brand of sophisticated European-style cruising to New York City and will be returning in the Fall of 2010 with a series of Canada/New England itineraries.

MSC Orchestra arrived in New York City Tuesday morning to a warm welcome from city officials. Her historic arrival marks the first time one of the Italian-owned cruise line’s ships has called in the “Big Apple.” The ship docked overnight at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal before departing today on an eastbound transatlantic crossing to Copenhagen, where she will sail Northern Europe itineraries during the summer months.

On Sept. 22, 2010, the line’s newest ship MSC Magnifica (currently under construction in France) arrives in New York for the line’s inaugural season of Canada/New England itineraries, roundtrip from New York City and Quebec City. It is estimated that the ship’s calls in NYC can potentially have an indirect revenue impact on the city valued at more than $2.7 million.

Princess Cruises Expands 2010 Summer Caribbean Season

April 29, 2009 – Two Princess ships will sail to the Caribbean during summer 2010, more than doubling the line’s capacity for the season. Passengers will have the option of five itinerary choices, as well as sailing from New York and Florida.

Caribbean Princess returns to offer the popular nine-day itinerary from New York to Bermuda and the Caribbean, while Emerald Princess will sail on seven-day roundtrip cruises from Fort Lauderdale to the Western and Eastern Caribbean. Together, the two ships will offer 30 departures to the sun-filled islands of the Caribbean.

“We’ve seen increased interest from passengers in sailing to the Caribbean during the summer,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president. “So in response, we’ve significantly expanded our program to offer cruisers a choice of sailings and the option of two departure ports.”

Caribbean Princess from New York – Caribbean Princess’ summer season from New York will feature 10 departures between May 2 and July 29, 2010. Eight of the nine-day voyages sail roundtrip on an itinerary that includes Bermuda (West End), St. Thomas, Grand Turk and San Juan. Caribbean Princess will also offer two sailings to St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Grand Turk and San Juan. In addition, the ship sails on a special seven-day Eastern Caribbean & Bermuda sailing from San Juan to New York featuring calls in Bermuda, St. Thomas and Antigua.

Emerald Princess from Fort Lauderdale – Emerald Princess will sail on week-long Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale, departing from May 9 to September 12, 2010. The ship will offer nine Eastern Caribbean departures calling at Princess Cays, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Grand Turk, alternating with 10 Western Caribbean sailings to Princess Cays, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

Norwegian Cruise Line Re-Arranges Fleet Norwegian Jewel to Sail From NY.

April 27, 2009 – Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today announced that it has redeployed Norwegian Sun for the summer of 2010, moving the ship from Alaska to Europe . The 1,936-passenger Norwegian Sun is assuming the summer 2010 itinerary previously announced for Norwegian Jewel and will sail a 12-day Baltic Capitals itinerary from London ( Dover ) beginning May 11, 2010 through September 8, 2010. In addition, the 2,376-passenger Norwegian Jewel will move from Europe to New York , sailing a combination of seven-day Bahamas & Florida, 10-day Canada & New England and 10-day Eastern Caribbean sailings from April 24, 2010 through April 24, 2011.

“After carefully weighing the rising costs of deploying three ships in Alaska and taking into account the recently enacted legislation, in particular the $50 head tax, we felt it was necessary to redeploy Norwegian Sun,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “ Alaska is an incredible destination, but we are clearly seeing the impact of these changes in 2009, emphasized even more by this challenging economic environment.”

Norwegian Sun had been scheduled to sail a seven-day itinerary between Vancouver , British Columbia and Whittier , Alaska . The ship’s new European deployment now includes a 15-day Panama Canal sailing from Santiago ( Valparaiso ), Chile , to Miami , Florida on April 11, 2010. Norwegian Sun will then reposition to Europe on a 15-day transatlantic voyage from Miami to London (Dover) on April 26, 2010, and begins her series of eleven 12-day Baltic Capitals cruises with stops in Copenhagen, Denmark; Berlin (Warnemünde), Germany; Tallinn, Estonia; overnight in St. Petersburg, Russia; Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm (Nynäshamn), Sweden.
Following her winter season in Miami , Norwegian Jewel repositions to New York on a 13-day Circle the Caribbean voyage on April 11, 2010. Once in New York, the ship will sail a series of 20 seven-day Bahamas & Florida cruises with stops in Orlando (Port Canaveral), Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau, Bahamas.

Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Star will continue their deployment in Alaska next summer, sailing seven-day Sawyer Glacier and Glacier Bay cruises from Seattle .

Norwegian Cruise Line is contacting travel partners and guests with reservations on Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Jewel’s previously scheduled sailings. The company is offering the option to transfer their reservation to a comparable sailing with their fare protected or re-priced if the fare is lower, along with an on-board credit. Carnival Offers Multiple Itineraries from New York in 2009

Carnival Cruises will be offering 3 ships sailing from New York in 2009. The Carnival Victory will sail on 4 and 5 day cruises to New England Canada, followed by 7 and 9 day day cruises visiting ports further north and St. Lawrence Seaway.

The Carnival Dream will spend the remainder of 2009/2010 sailing from Port Canaveral, Florida alternating sailing to the Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean.
