Costa Cruise - Costa Concordia
Costa Cruises Costa Concordia
In late April, Costa Cruises and the Costa Concordia Emergency Commissioner’s Office announced the award of the salvage contract for the removal of the Costa Concordia from Giglio Island. The contract has been awarded to Titan Salvage in partnership with the Italian firm Micoperi. The work will begin in early May. The removal operation is  expected to take about 12 months.

The wreck will be removed in one piece and re-floated. The Costa Concordia is expected to be towed to a nearby port/shipyard to determine next steps.
