Celebrity Constellation Undergoes Refit

April 15, 2010 – As Celebrity Cruises celebrates on April 24 the naming of Celebrity Eclipse, the third in the brand’s $3.7-billion series of five sleek Solstice Class ships launching from 2008-2012, it also will begin a significant revitalization of its Millennium Class ships, starting with Celebrity Constellation.

During a drydock period in Hamburg, Germany, from April 24 through May 9, and in a vivid illustration of Celebrity’s “Designed for you” brand platform, Celebrity Constellation will be refit with some of the most popular venues on the line’s Solstice Class ships. Celebrity has released new renderings of Bistro on Five, the vibrant, popular creperie, and the Tuscan Grille specialty restaurant, to give guests and travel partners a visual taste of just two of the new venues that will welcome guests sailing on Celebrity Constellation on May 9 and beyond.

In addition to its new Tuscan Grille and Bistro on Five, Celebrity Constellation will re-enter service with a new ice-topped Martini Bar; the cool Café al Bacio and Gelateria; Cellarmasters wine bar, including the Enomatic, state-of-the-art wine serving system allowing guests to select and serve wines of their choice by the glass, at the touch of a button; more sumptuous suites, with all new furniture, flat-screen TVs, upholstery, bedding and carpeting; restyled staterooms, with entirely new carpeting, flat-screen TVs, upholstery and bedding; and new color schemes, carpeting and upholstery reflective of the Solstice Class in every public venue.

Celebrity Cruises is designed for discerning cruisers, with modern, sophisticated environments, impeccable service, enriching and inspiring onboard programs, and world-class cuisine. The ultimate in premium cruising, Celebrity sails in Alaska, California, Canada/New England, Europe, the Pacific Coast, Panama Canal, South America, and year-round in the Caribbean and the Galapagos Islands. Celebrity also offers immersive cruisetour experiences in Alaska, Canada, Europe and South America. Celebrity’s mega-series of honors include being named the top mega-ship line in Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards (November 2009). Celebrity’s fleet currently consists of nine ships. Its $3.7-billion investment in building five stylish Solstice Class ships between 2008-2012 represents the largest five-year investment in premium cruising.
